It seems every year the need for services is greater. No single organization can meet every need. No matter the size of the organization, non-profits must be able to make referrals to agencies who specialize outside their own scope. Life in community is important to us at Crisis Ministries and this is why we partner through a group, Irving Community Action Network (ICAN).
ICAN members are from local organizations as well as some serving our county and state. Some of the members are large nationwide or world wide organizations and some are smaller, solely volunteer groups. Regardless of size, we serve, hoping to make a difference.
Monthly gatherings enrich all of us with new tools, greater awareness and collaboration. All of this for the purpose of helping neighbors during their most vulnerable times.
We are a proud and faithful member and contributor to ICAN, because together WE CAN!

This was not just another year. It was a record year. Keep Irving Beautiful not only champions keeping our city beautiful but partners with various corporations and non-profits to serve our neighbors.

Through street, park and community activities, this small team understands what it means to love our city. This year 490 volunteers collected 580 lbs. of trash, 540 lbs. of recyclables and donated 864 lbs. of food to Crisis Ministries.
We are truly blessed to serve in a city where so many love to spend their time in community.

Our most recent partnership with Stars & Stripes Bargain Center is helping Crisis Ministries continue our financial assistance program. A portion of each months sales at this partner 501c3 non-profit goes to support other local charities.
Crisis Ministries uses these funds to prevent homelessness by assisting with rent or mortgage payments. We are thankful for the caring team at Stars & Stripes.
Consider donating your unwanted clothing, furniture and household items. Stars & Stripes is a low cost thrift store impacting our community in big ways. Find out more at here.

We were blessed by our local postal carriers again this year. Almost 10000 lbs. of food collected and donated to local pantries in Irving. Karen one of volunteers was greeted by Ron with the main post office on Irving Blvd.
Our volunteers were ready with pick up trucks to load up and roll down the road to our location at 114 E. Second Street, in downtown Irving. Waiting for the arrival were eager faces of all ages to unload, sort and inventory and estimated 4200 lbs. the primary day of collection.
Did you know that Crisis Ministries distributed just under 300;000 lbs. of food in 2018 to local families?
